Yesterday my son told me at lunch:
"Yesterday morning I went for a job at a foundry where they work only for blacks. While I was working un'omone passes by, stops, looks at me with pity in his eyes and says,

From the tone of voice and expression of the eyes, I realized that while I was up until now to feel compassion for the immigrants, Italian and now we do pity them. .
